Take your language proficiency test online. Upon passing this online language proficiency exam, you’ll receive a certificate as evidence of your language skills and language fluency. We offer language proficiency assessments for the English language as well as over 70 other languages. Our test assesses listening comprehension as well as speaking and interpreting ability (grammar, syntax, flow). These language exams are a Level 3 on the ILR scale proving professional working proficiency.
The course comes with an English exam and one target language exam.
The top languages available for language proficiency testing are: Spanish , Mandarin, Urdu, Dari, French, Pashto, Portuguese, Farsi, Korean, Amharic, Arabic, and Hindi. You can view a full list of supported languages online.
You listen to the recording on our learning management system and either respond or interpret in your given language. A Microphone is required.
For the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) you have one attempt. If you need one more attempt, one is given free of charge. For the Professional Medical Interpreter (PMI) test, you get two attempts.
To complete the Professional Medical Interpreter (PMI), you have access for 60 days. To complete the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) course, you have access for 30 days.
You need to pass with a minimum score of 80% which is S-3 on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) that corresponds to the Professional Working Proficiency.
